Blessed In the Mess

Handful of Blessings PT. 2

One of our greatest desires is to live a blessed life.  We ask for blessings from the Lord with every prayer… “Lord, bless our home, our finances, our family, our efforts, our workplace, our friends, our health, our food.”  We want all we do to be blessed but what does it really mean to be blessed?

One definition of blessed is to be made holy.  In other words, when we ask for things to be blessed, we are asking for them to be holy and pleasing to God.  We are trusting that He will provide us with things that bring goodness into our lives.  We are depending on Him, instead of ourselves, for this provision.

Time and time again, God’s word reminds us that He is more than able to supply everything we need for a blessed and meaningful life here on earth.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:19)

That scripture says EVERY need, not SOME or A FEW.  We must put our trust, that faith we talked about previously, in Him and He will provide for us according to the vast riches He possesses.

Do you find it easy or difficult to put your trust in God? Do you believe He will bless you and supply your needs?

Can you think of a time when it was very apparent to you that God was in the mix of your life, blessing you according to His riches?

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

What a blessing it is to know that God is with us, and we have no need to be fearful.  He is walking alongside us, helping and guiding us.  He is there to hold us up when we start to fall.  He is our rock and our fortress.

Have there been circumstances in your life where you have had to rely on God for your strength?

How many times has He picked you up, dusted you off, and set you back on track?

In order to receive His blessings, we need only to be willing and ready to listen and obey.

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. (Isaiah 1:19)

Ladies, God has SO MUCH goodness for us!  He wants to bless our socks off!  Are you ready?  Are you willing?  Are you ready to approach life with the obedience necessary to receive all He has for you?

Blessed is he whose help is the God of  Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, (Psalm 146:5)

Do you lift your eyes to God in times of trouble?  Where does your help come from?  In your moments of “almost hopelessness” do you remember to turn to the Father?  So many times we get frustrated, discouraged, and hopeless.  We forget that God is right there waiting….waiting for us to look to him for help, waiting for us to cry out to Him in our fear and desperation, waiting for us to put our hope in Him, waiting to bless us.  Why do we keep Him waiting?  Why do we not always remember to go first to God?

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.  As it is written, “He has distributed freely, he has give to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” He also supplies seed to the owner and the bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. (2 Corinthians 9:8-10)

Are you ready for the bounty?  God is ready to bless you.  He is ready to give you everything you need to do the good work He has called you to do.  He will bless you with every tool you need to sow into the hearts of others … In your home, in your family, in your workplace, in your church, and anywhere else He places you.  Receive the blessing so that you, in turn, can pass it on to others.  Receive the goodness that is waiting for you, and the righteousness that comes with living for God.

Are you ready to receive the Promise of His abundant blessings?
