The Queen of Routine
The Struggle to Juggle Series: PART THREE
Kids do so much better when they know what to expect and what is expected of them. (Bedtime, morning routine, weekly routine, chores) Parents who follow a routine set a good example for their kids.
How well have you established routines in your home? Do those routines include bible study and/or prayer time with your children? Are you making God a priority in your home?
Another great way to establish routines is to have routines of productivity. What are you doing together in your home that is productive? Are there routine chores that teach responsibility? Are you spending time together as a family, growing your relationship and strengthening your bonds?
Mamas tend to be the heart of the home. We have the unique ability to keep our home productive and keep routine in the functioning of our household.
She watches over the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. ~ Proverbs 31:27
What a beautiful, powerful way God gave us to create order and interaction within the walls of our homes. What a marvelous gift it is to be used as His vessel in such a way.
A routine will give your child a sense of security. If you don’t currently have routines, start now and try implementing one new routine each month.
Don’t forget about your own routines, as well! Make sure you create a routine each day that offers you a time of solitude with your Savior. Carve out a time for prayer and reading His word. Fill yourself up for the day with the strength and peace that comes from time spent at His feet.
“But I can’t find the time!”
“I am just too busy.”
“I can do it on my own.”
If you have found yourself saying any of the above, or a myriad of other similar phrases, let me assure you…you CAN make time. Even if you can only start with a few minutes, a little is better than nothing at all. Make it a part of your routine to spend time with the Lord each and every day. It will bless your heart, your life, and your family far more than you can imagine.
